Google Watchers

Holding Google to Its Promise: "Don't Be Evil"

I submitted my idea for incorporating proportional representation into our state legislative elections to Google's 10 to the 100th contest and so as of January, they might be providing the seed capital for a movement that will allow us to complement our two main nat'l parties with a host of local third parties. We will need local third parties that are better immune to the influence of $peech by virtue of the decentralized more community-oriented nature of their organization to check the influence of big orgs like Google on our two main nat'l parties.

That's a creative way of leveraging the power of Google to bring it to bear on Google, Dave! Good on ya. I hope your idea gets picked. Keep us posted here, OK?

Well, it's really out of my hands and on the altar for God to breath life into or provide a ram alternative. If the Google Boys wanted to make it happen as a check on their power's tendency to make them "be evil" then it would happen, but that's really the sort of thing that can't be coerced out of anyone with that much power.
